Testimony Time

A couple of years ago, something happened at church that knocked me for a loop.  I felt like the enemy had sucker punched me right in the gut.  I had been fight depression for about 4 years and it seemed that every time I got my head up the enemy would come along and knock me back down.  I left church that morning, defeated, discouraged, hurt and I had made up my mind I would not be coming back to church, and if I did I would never preach or say anything again.  It was just too hard.  I called the Pastor, who is also my husband,  as I drove off and I told him I was not quitting God but I would never ever go back to church.  He didn’t chastise me, he just listened, and he began to pray.  The next morning as I was sitting at my computer, crying and thinking about what had happened, I felt something rise up inside me.  I stood up and declared that the devil is a liar, that he will NOT defeat me, that he will not keep my mouth shut, and that he is in for a lot of trouble now!!  That something that rose up inside me was the Holy Spirit.  The Bible tell us that “greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world”.    From that day I began to rely totally on the Holy Spirit for healing and deliverance.  A healing began that day, healing from hurt but also a healing and deliverance from depression.  The depression didn’t leave immediately, but as I began to seek  God it began to lift.  As I continued to pray over the next few months I began to recognize when the enemy would come with the depression and I would resist.  Now, today, I am free.  I have established myself in righteousness, as the Bible says, and oppression is far from me.  Praise the Lord!

If you are fighting a battle today, let the Holy Spirit rise up strong within you.   Don’t give the enemy access to your thoughts, or your actions.  Stand up, come on, stand to your feet right now and say, “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”  Began to declare that he, the devil,  is a liar.  Declare that you are a child of the Living God and you will not be defeated.  Let him know that the greater one lives in you and that he, the devil,  is under your feet. Now began to pray and seek the Lord with all your heart.  Get in the Word!  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things!  When you do, you too will get the victory over what you are going through.   Lean on, rely on, and confidently trust in God, He will bring you out of the oppression and depression you are in!!

Conference Testimony

posted Jan 30, 2014, 9:47 AM by Debbie Butler

The conference this past weekend at SpeedWay Christian Fellowship with Mike McInerney was amazing! There is no way I can do the conference justice in this article, so I will tell you a little of what I got out of it... The conference started with how we were affected when Adam and Eve "fell" in the garden. The "fall" left us with incorrect ideas, incorrect beliefs, incorrect patterns of thinking, incorrect attitudes and incorrect motives. As a result of this, we have an incorrect identity of ourselves, which is not the identity that Christ has of and for us. We got our identity from people as we grew up: from how they treated us, what they said to us and the things they did to us. Mike taught us how to identify the incorrect beliefs, where they came from, who they came from, how they affected us, and to forgive. When we identify where these incorrect ideas came from and forgive, we tear down satanic strongholds in our lives, and we begin to see our identity through Jesus. We learn to get our worth and identity from Jesus Christ and not people.

Mike showed us that one of the meanings of "Lord" is "owner." When we get saved, we no longer belong to ourselves. 1st Corinthians 6:19-20 says: "What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN? For you are BOUGHT with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, WHICH ARE GOD'S." Since that's the case, then everything we have belongs to God, everything that was ever done to hurt us belongs to God, and everything we ever did to hurt anybody belongs to God. Its like when you work for someone: you're not the owner, you work for the owner, and you must do His will - not yours. God is the owner, we belong to, or work for him, and we must do His will - not ours. If you haven't got it yet, this means WE BELONG TO GOD, and everything we do and say, (and even how we act) should be according to His will - not ours! When we get a revelation knowledge of this, we will begin to walk in the Spirit as we're supposed to!

There is so much more to this conference it would take pages to write everything down. Speaking for myself I will never be the same, think of myself the same, see myself the same, nor will I ever look at God's Word the same again!

As I was praying at the community prayer, held at SpeedWay Christian Fellowship  Tuesdays @ 10:00am - 12:00pm, I heard these words in my heart:  ‘ALL IN‘.  At the same time I saw a picture of a poker table and the player had just pushed all his chips to the center of the table and said, “I’m all in”.   I don’t play poker so I googled to find out what that term meant.  (Down deep I knew what it meant but was trying to evade what God was saying to me.)  "All in" is a gambling term (esp. poker) It refers to a player committing his entire remaining chips / money to the current bet. In essence it means  "do-or-die“.. It means an irreversible and complete commitment with the added subtext of feeling very confident in the commitment.  It also said that in video games, "all in" meant that you were devoting your army to a "do or die" effort. In other words, you were either going to win or lose in the next battle. The "all in" meant that you typically brought all of your soldiers to fight, holding none back.  It also means "fully committed"

My next step was finding out what God was trying to tell me, like that was going to be hard!!!  I was just trying to postpone the enviable.   I knew exactly what He was saying!!

About 18 years ago, I was at a women’s retreat, it was powerful.  I watched the pastor who was preaching, Annette Tracy, thinking “I want to be like her”.  She had a strong anointing, she was bold, she was what I wanted to be.  I went back to my room shaking like a leaf.  I knew God was wanting to talk to me.  I got my pj’s on and got in bed with my notebook and pen and waited.  There were four of us sharing a room and we were all talking about the service and one of the women looked at me and said that God was all over me.  I knew that, I was still shaking!!!!  I began to write as He spoke:  “Exchange your will for mine.  There is a price to pay and it will not always be an easy price.  You will be misunderstood my family, you will be misunderstood by friends.  Are you willing to pay the price to walk in my anointing as you never have.  It won’t always be easy but the rewards will be great.  The road will be hard at times and lonely at others but rest assured I will never leave you nor forsake you.  When you go through the fire I will be there.  When you go through the water I will be there.  Your life will never be the same, you can never go back.  Will you pay the price I’m asking of you to have the anointing I have for you? “   I had reached a point where God was asking me for total commitment.  He was taking me to another level!  Wow, let me tell you He was right on!  Once I said “yes”, which, by the way,  took me weeks to do, everything began to come to pass just like He said.

Now here I am 18 years later and God spoke to me again,  ‘ALL IN‘, ‘do or die‘, ‘fully committed‘!!!  What was He trying to say???!!!!!!   I knew exactly what He was saying, “It’s time to go to another level in Me.”  He was saying, “I want you to go ‘ALL IN’ for me“, no holding back, no halfway,  no compromise, It’s ‘do or die’ time!  Now is the time to be ‘fully committed’ to Me and to what I have called you to do!!!  I thought I was, but as it became clearer I realized there were things God called me to do that I had let fall to the sidelines.  There were things in my life that I thought were more important than God.  Now, it’s time to make a decision, I can throw a fit and act like God doesn‘t know what He is talking about, ignore His voice, or I can surrender and go ‘ALL IN‘!!

We as Christians like to believe that we are fully committed to what God has called us to do or be.  Oh yes, Father,  I’ll go where you want me go!   I’ll say what You want me to say!   I’ll be what You want me to be!   Easy to say!  Yet when something, we think is more important, comes along we go do that without even giving God or His Word, or the commitment we made to Him,  a second thought.  If it feels good, we do it!  If we want it, we go for it!  Other things and people first!  Then we say, “God understands.“  God is calling us to be ‘ALL IN’, no holding back, no half-way, ’fully committed’.  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart, and with ALL thy soul, and with ALL thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  (Mat 22:37-38  If ye love me, keep my commandments. ( Joh 14:15 )

Jesus is fully committed to us!   When He went ‘ALL IN’,  He went  to the cross for us!  He went all the way to death!  He didn’t stop along the way to do His own thing.  He didn’t find something more important to do!  No, He was “fully committed” or “ALL IN”.  Shouldn’t we be the same when it comes to our commitment to Him and what He has called us to do and be?   God is not looking for a wishy-washy, lukewarm, do my own thing people!  He is looking for people who will say ‘Yes’ to His will and to His way!!  He is looking for people who are ‘aglow and burning with the Holy Ghost’, people who are ‘on fire’ for Him.  He is looking for people who will not compromise, but will go ‘ALL IN’, ‘DO OR DIE’, people who are ‘FULLY COMMITTED’.  People who will let nothing or nobody stop them from doing what He has called them to do!  Will you be that person?

Your asking me, “what are you going to do“?  I’m going “ALL IN”  baby!!!  No ’ands’, ’ifs’, or ’buts’!!!!  I just shoved everything to the center of the table!!!

What an awesome weekend @ SWCF!
On Wednesday night when Pastor Curtis got through preaching  he asked if there was anyone who needed prayer.  People began to come to the front including one little girl (11).  When we ask her what she needed prayer for she replied, “I want to be filled with God.”  After we had prayed for her and everyone else, she came back up to Pastor Debbie and wanted prayer again.  She said  it felt good when we prayed for her.  We prayed and she was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.  (Acts 2:4) She was not told what to say, in fact she was not coerced  in any way, we prayed and the Holy Spirit filled her.  Afterward, she couldn’t quit laughing, but then she would start crying.  This went on for a while.  We assured her every thing was ok, that the Bible said that when they were filled others thought they were drunk.  (Acts 2:13, 15)  We also told her that now  when she prayed she had a secret language that only God could understand.  She said, “COOL”.  (1 Cor. 14:2)

On Sunday, Pastor Curtis got up to preach and he called all the kids up to the front to sit on the altars.  They filled up both altars!  He read the scripture, “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:”.  He began to talk to them about how people are watching their lives because they know you go to church, and how to some of those people you are the only Bible they read.  Pastor talked to them about walking in love and being nice to others.  He talked to them for about 10 minutes and then he asked how many had asked Jesus into their hearts to help them live right.  There were about 4 that said they had.  Pastor took a few minutes to explain salvation, asking Jesus into your heart, and what all that means.  Then he asked how many would like to ask Jesus into their heart, 8 more raised their hands and when he prayed with them all of them prayed!  Praise the Lord!  God is moving among our kids!  REVIVAL IS NOW!!

What a powerful move of God we are experiencing at SpeedWay Christian Fellowship! We are experiencing healings, miracles, salvations, and joy! The gifts of the Spirit are in operation, even in our kids! God is pouring out of His Spirit on all flesh! One little boy, 7, testified of having lost his stylus pencil that went to his DS. He told us that he then prayed, and that God showed him exactly where it was. He was so excited! Another boy, 10, told his granny that he felt the Holy Spirit. He said the Holy Spirit made his insides shake!
We have had testimonies of high blood pressure healed, and of blood sugar that returned to normal, no insulin needed! We have had reports of people that no longer needed their medications. (We never tell anyone to stop taking their medication, but once they are healed the doctor then takes them off!) We have seen cancer leave, and the dead raised and brought back to life! We have seen salvations take place, where people are really changed!
God impressed on us as we were praying, that we were waiting on something that’s already here. It’s already happening!! Revival is not a man, it’s not a series of meetings; it’s Him - touching and changing His people, reviving them. As a result, we have stopped looking for revival to happen "some day," because it is here and it is happening right NOW. We have stopped looking for a man to start a revival, but we are looking to the Holy Spirit!! We ARE being revived! We ARE being changed!! We ARE seeing a mighty manifestation of His power and His glory!

As a result of all that God is doing, we are seeing growth in the church. God is adding to our SWCF family! We are seeing the vision God gave us taking place right before our eyes, exceeding abundantly above all that we could even imagine!!
Yes, we are seeing the beginning of the fire of revival in each and every service and it is amazing! We take no glory for what God is doing, as we are merely the vessels that He is using! It's all the Holy Spirit, and we expect that it's only going to get more powerful as the days go by!! We are a church that was born in a revival in 1995 and we are still seeing the power of God!!! God is so awesome and we give Him all the glory!!!

Power of God in Action

posted Aug 7, 2013, 10:38 AM by Debbie Butler

1 Cor. 4:20-For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in POWER.

We can talk the talk, but when we as Christians began to walk the walk in POWER, we will began to see people come back to Jehovah God!!! We will began to see lives changed!! We will began to see the sick healed!

The enemy can get Christians so off focus, he has us protesting/arguing abortion, protesting/arguing same-sex marriage, getting angry over everything that doesn't go according to what we believe, etc, when the thing God has called us to do is to "go ye", preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified and do it in LOVE! People have heard the talk, now they need to see the "POWER" of God in action!! To walk in love we must walk in the power of Jehovah God, doing what He did and greater. To walk in the power of God we must humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and pray, seek God's face, then turn from our wicked ways!!

Jesus didn't die on the cross for us to just do church. He called us to do the things He did and greater!!

Lets quit "talking the talk" and "walk the walk"---the walk that Jehovah God has called us to walk in...love and power!!

Move of God

posted Jul 15, 2013, 11:28 AM by Debbie Butler

I am constantly amazed as I stand in the presence of Jehovah God! We are seeing a mighty move of the presence of God in each service at SWCF! All I can say again is "SOMETHINGS MOVING, SOMETHINGS CHANGING, WE SEE HIS GLORY, EXPERIENCING HEAVEN ON EARTH"!! Jehovah God has started something here and it just keeps getting "gooder and gooder"! We are seeing people get saved and they are walking the walk not just talking the talk. You know they really get saved when their husband/wife and kids tell you they have changed! Praise God!! We are seeing people healed, delivered and made whole.   We are seeing signs, wonders, and miracles at a more rapid pace than ever before! Several years ago someone prophesied that miracles would began to pop like popcorn, it's happening and will continue even faster in the near future! God is so awesome!

As a result of this, we baptized a family of four at Lake Ray Roberts this past Saturday!  Praise God!  We will be baptizing more this coming Saturday at the pastor's home!  We are so excited at what God is doing!

It's all Jehovah God, not us, we take none of the glory, we've just done what He spoke at the beginning "give me a place where I can touch my people".   We have done that to the best of our ability and He is faithful!!! If you are wanting the power of God and not just a form of religion, SWCF, is just the place for you!!!  We invite you to join us any time!!

Passionate Heart

posted Sep 20, 2011, 6:55 PM by Debbie Butler

What a great time to be alive and living for Jesus!! I recently joined a group on Facebook called, “You know you were raised A/G if…..”, and you filled in the blank. People talked about how they were raised and the things they were taught in church. We laughed as we remembered how we were not allowed to wear shorts in P.E. We laughed at the fact that we were not allowed to go anywhere but church when we went on a date. That’s just how we were raised, that’s what we believed the Bible taught. (What started out as a passion to please God in everything, became a doctrine of man.) At first it was pretty funny reminiscing and remembering how we were not allowed to do certain things and how we all went through similar teachings as we grew up. Then I began to hear people talk about how the spirit moved back then and “why doesn’t He move that way now?”. They kept attributing the move of the Spirit to the songs that were sung. Some even said that if we would get back to the old paths and the way things were done, God would move again.

Yes, God moved when people wore long dresses and suits with ties. He moved when we sung the old hymns. The Holy Spirit is also moving today when we sing the new songs. I see the Holy Spirit move when people have on shorts, sleeveless shirts, hats, long hair and I could keep going. The Spirit moves all the time at SpeedWay Christian Fellowship. I even heard of a person who happened to be in the shower, totally nude and the Holy Spirit moved in power upon him and he fell out in the Spirit, while in the tub. God didn’t move in power because of the way people dressed, or the song they sung. The Bible tells us God doesn’t look at the outward appearance. (1 Samuel 16:7)

Could it be that the Holy Spirit is not moving now because people no longer have a passion for God? Maybe He is not moving now because people no longer strive to please Him. God is looking on the heart. He is looking for a people with passionate hearts, that love Him with every part of their being.

I thank God for my Christian heritage, but I don’t want to go back to the way it was. I love what God is doing now. God says, “Behold I do a new thing…” This is not something that is new to God, it’s new to us. We have to move with the Holy Spirit, into the new things God has for us, as He leads. Sometimes we have to give up man made traditions and doctrines and go with God. We need to become passionate about the things of God and we will experience the move of God in a greater measure than even what our fore fathers experienced.

Do you want to see a move of God like on the day of Pentecost, or even like we use to see as young people raised in a A/G environment? Do you want to see things happen like in the book of Acts? Let’s become passionate for God, seeking Him like never before. Let’s abandon all for Him. Let’s get eager to please Him no matter what, and we will see God move in power once again like He did in days gone by.

I saw a post on facebook this week that caught my attention.. It said, “When you hang on the cross for someone’s sins then you can judge them.” We as Christians have taken it upon ourselves to judge those around us. Several years ago God began dealing with me about not judging and forgiving people. Ever so often He will refresh me in His Word concerning this. As He began to show me my heart I was astonished at how much we judge others.

Jesus Himself said,” You judge after the flesh. I judge no man.” Jesus is our example. A woman was brought to Him, she had been caught in the very act of adultery. Yet in His mercy and grace He said, “Neither do I condemn (judge) thee, go and sin no more.” John 3:17: For God sent not His son into the world to condemn (judge) the world: but that the world through Him might be saved.”

We need to extend mercy to those around us. The Bible says, “For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” (James 2:15) If we give judgment and ask for repayment for wrongs done to us, then we will be dealt with according to what we dish out. If we extend mercy we will receive mercy. If we dole out judgment we will receive judgment. The Bible tells us we will reap what we sow.

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to get what I deserve from God, from satan, nor from life. I need God’s mercy every day. It is time we began to judge ourselves through God’s eyes and His Word. If we do this we won’t have time to judge others. There is coming a day of judgment, but the judge will be Father God at the great white throne judgment.
Read: Matt 18:21-35 Pay close attention to what happens to the one who extend judgment (v. 28-34) He was turned over to the tormentors. V 35 The heavenly Father will do the same if we do not forgive everyone their trespasses.
Matt. 5:7
